Sprint launches Samsung Intercept Android QWERTY smartphone

After having seen it outted early by a Best Buy store, Sprint today officially unveiled its Android 2.1 powered Samsung Intercept smartphone
. The Intercept features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a mid-range spec list that includes a 3.2 megapixel camera.
The Intercept, which appears to be the replacement for Samsung’s Moment, features a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, and support for microSD memory cards as large as 32GB in capacity. The phone supports such Sprint services as Visual Voicemail and Sprint TV, and also provides access to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
It is worth noting, however, that the Intercept only supports EV-DO Rev. 0 data on Sprint’s 3G network, not the faster Rev. A speeds that we have come to expect.
The Samsung Intercept will be available on July 11 for $99.99, after rebate, when purchased with a new two year Everything Data contract, which start at $69.99 per month. It will be available in two colors: gray and pink.
