Rampage on field as SL post 312/2 at stumps
Sri Lanka continued with their rampage against India as centuries by skipper Kumar Sangakkara and Tharanga Paranavitana helped them post a mammoth 312/2 at stumps on first day of the second Test here at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground on Monday.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Sri Lankan openers Tilakaratne Dilshan and Paranavitana took off to a brilliant start as the duo build a strong partnership of 99 runs, the former claiming his 15 Test half ton in the process.
However, their party was cut short when Pragyan Ojha got Dilshan caught by VVS Laxman at short cover, thus dismissing him for 54 runs.
Paranavitana, thereafter, continued his attack with Sangakkara, leading their team past the 250 run mark.
